The Adventure Begins!

The Operation Central America team has arrived in Guatemala! Already the students can see that God is actively involved in all of the details. What a send-off celebration! Family and friends praying together and students sharing what they will be doing through their ministry teams.

In today's devotions the students reflected on Psalm 117:
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

It was an early morning start. Even the airline representatives were still on the way to work. The group flying through Atlanta arrived in Guatemala on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. local time (12:30 in MN). It was a quick transfer with no time for breakfast. But the surprise sandwiches on-board were providential -- unexpected and much appreciated.

The group flying through Houston had a longer wait and poor weather slowed their arrival. While waiting at the church in Guatemala City, the first group had a refreshing cookout and an opportunity to rest and become acquainted with local church members.

Good to hear the travelling was uneventful. I hope the medicines and other supplies made it safely through customs. We're praying for a good first night's sleep and a great start tomorrow as all the teams get right to work.
