A Day with the Children's Ministry team in Guatemala City

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God. 1 John 3:1

¡Fíjense qué gran amor nos ha dado el Padre, que se nos llame hijos de Diós! 1 Juan 3:1

Sunday night home stays were a great opportunity to make new friends, experience Guatemalan family life, have a home-cooked meal, and utilize new Spanish skills.

The Children's Ministry team visited two elementary schools. Small groups played games with the children -- jump rope, basketball, parachute games, red light/ green light (in español). Then the team put on a program with the help of Luis and Manuel, a father/son ministry with an engaging program of songs and stories sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. At each program, a Wooddale student speaks about what God is doing in her life.

When the children returned to class, team members visited with them and gave stickers and colored bead bracelets as an illustration for the Gospel message of every person's sinful condition, God's perfect plan to send His son to earth to die as payment for our sins, and the availability of God's free gift of eternal life with him, if we will humbly acknowledge our spiritual condition of sinfulness and ask for his forgiveness. It's amazing to see how the Guatemalan children respond to the Wooddale students!
