Pictures

We´d love to post more pictures for you to see, but the Internet connection in Campur is painfully slow, and not always cooperative. I´ve been trying for the last hour to post several more pictures, but it just isn´t going to work today.

We will try again tomorrow.

    Hi Everyone!
Thank you for this great website and the pics are SUCH a treat! It must feel like such a privilege to be there and know that God is really using you to give His love and care to people in Campur. (even with the backed up toilets and huge cockroaches!) What a great thing to be a part of.
We are so thankful for your safety and for all that you're doing and learning. We'll be praying!
Pete and John................ We must say that you and your team are looking quite fetching in your scrubs. If that's the future of medicine - it's LOOKING GOOD! We love you. We miss you. We're keeping the grass alive (barely) :). We're so glad you get to be a part of this. We can't wait to hear more! XXOO annie & nancy

Hey Peter Anderson! It looks like you are having a great time with the kids. Good thing you are strong. Maybe you should try for a record and see how many kids you can have hang on you. Well, I am praying for you and can't wait to see all your great photos. (So take some). I love you! Your sister Amy.

    Elizabeth and all -

Ya'all must really be rockin' Guatemala because we just heard that there was an earthquake southwest of Guatemala City with a magnitude of 6.8. I suppose the earthquake could have been triggered by all of the rock busting that the service team is doing, or it could have been to accent the cross scene in the mime.

We are enjoying the reports, both on the blog and the hotline.

Elizabeth, we miss you and love you. From your posting it appears that all of the hard work in Senior Diaz's class this year is paying off for you, Christina and John. Danae has called home every night from California to tell of her adventures, just as you did when you went with Gary and Sheryl to Utah at that age. She got back from the redwood forest yesterday and is was going to Alchatraz today. It is quiet around here which may be okay for another day or two, but we will certainly be ready to end our solitude soon.

    Love, Mom & Dad

    Hey!

It's so great being able to keep up with what you're all doing and what God is doing in your lives and the lives of the Guatemalans you're in contact with. We're praying for you all!

Adam, there is a surprise waiting for you when you get back involving caffeine. And you are in Modern Fiction (C.W. was closed) for sure. It's complicated, but you're going to have to confirm what math you want (she just wants you to talk to the dept.) and then choose a chem section based on the math you choose. It's all fine though, no worries. You'll be happy.

I'm so excited for you right now though! Can't wait to hear from you…

Tim (Fox)- We are doing well here...not too many glitches (you'll have to ask Cam how much fun he had watering the grass by hand). I think Colin missed an evening practice while I was gone to ISU with Bret. We returned this afternoon after a Nike outlet store stop. I think the trip was successful for Bret (they put him in the honors program(!!!) and he has an 8am class three days a week)...alot to tell you. Kyle is doing a good job with the kids. I have done a little Boards studying...very little. We were busier at ISU than I anticipated.

Question- do I need to do anything with the accounts? You didn't say anything and I have written several checks (our account, not business). Please advise.

Bret is out on the lake (big surprise). Cameron had soccer practice. Kyle is out with Amy. Colin is spending the night with Jake from his team. He told me soccer tryouts are going very well. It has been hot and a little humid here, making soccer tryouts tough.

Please convey to everyone that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Any word on whether or not the earthquake will change your plans? Give my best to Sarah, Jen, Brian, Mary and Pete.

    Love ya,
    Kerry

P.S. Dad called from Chicago to tell us about the earthquake, which he saw on CNN.

Hi Christina - it sounds like you and the team are doing good work and having fun in Campur. We wish we were there...sort of. Not sure the bathing facility would work for us. Mom finally stopped the crying; I think it was the blizzard she had tonight. Yours is in the freezer.....yeah right. Dad came home with 3 blizzards.Guess how many are left? You got it! " 0 " He is eating yours now. Lily wakes me at 5 A.M. I think she misses you too. Keep up all the great work. Our prayers are with each and every one of you. Love mom and dad

    Hey Christa,

No earthquakes here, just the hot sun at the beach the last couple days. LifeLink is going extremely well, we have had some interesting calls and 911 emergency also. Where are you in the pictures!! Hope you are well and having a great time. I(we) miss you and can't wait to see what God is doing in you and the team there.

    Hi Trent!
It has been so fun to see your face in the pictures! You look a little tire so they must be working you.
Are you hanging in there with your stomach? Has anyone gotten sick yet? Hope all is well in that department!
We got called from Colorado last night as they were bringing Scott to the hospital. He dove in the water and hit a rock and got a real nasty cut on the top of his head. It required 10 stitches. He is doing fine.
It is so fun to hear from you, keep it coming.
    Love ya lots, Mom Stensrud

    Hi Cole,

It has been great following your trip, technology is great! I am glad that it appears that you still have all your digits and have not drilled a a hole through something you need while working on the construction project. Baylor is really homesick and needs our prayers, please pray for the Lord to comfort him and give him confidence. We have not heard from Nash but Heather has a phone site and everyone seems to be having a great time in Colorado. The house is REALLY QUIET with all three of you gone. Did you feel the earthquake? Grandma called and said that it was "a really bad one - the worst of all" but it sounds like there was minimal damage. Have you had a chance to read the book I sent with you? I am sure that you and everyone will be blessed and be a blessing glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ in His service!

    Love Dad.

    Ashley -

It was great to see another note from you. I am so glad they have this blog thing.

We had a few calls from folks wondering if you were ok with the earthquake.

I can imagine the sound of the rain on the roofs. That would be unique and very memorable.

We really miss you but are very proud of you.

Hang in there, we love you and miss you. Get yourself in one of those pictures so we can see you.

    All our love.

    Trent and fellow team members,

I know you are traveling to Guatamala City today. This will be a completely new experience. I'm sure it was hard to leave the people of Campur, but reflect on all that God accomplished through you all! I'm sure you made God look good, which is the main goal.
Trent, Mari has a tournament tomorrow in Northfield and then we are off to Wisconsin to bring her to camp. Dad and I will stay there for a few days and then come home. Wednesday I'm going up north to bike with Daisy, so we are staying busy.
Scott went mountain biking and had a blast, he also did the rock climbing and won the race when they competed on who could climb the mountain the fastest. He's having a blast.
I am so excited about what God is doing in both of you and threw both of you.
I'm so greatful for all the wonderful supporters that sacrificed so that you can have this experience. Make them proud.

You are loved more than you know!
