Observations from OCA students

God's spirit certainly is prevalent in the lives of the Guatemala. They have a willingness to give all they are to God in ways that i have never experienced before. During the clinics these past few days i have been giving the incredible opportunity to gospel with the patients through pulseras (bracelet) in their native native tongue. It has specific colors on it that represent jesus (black=sin, white=clean hearts because of His sacrifice ect.). I also got to be a part of praying for someone who excepted Christ into their lives. Alabado sea Dios! praise be to God! -ali h.

¿Qué pasa? The first couple of days in Guat have been amazing. Just yesterday 40-50 people prayed to receive God into their hearts for the first time after our drama performance. Worship was muy loco at the church we attended. My home stay may be my best experience so far. I was able to have a conversation for hours about my faith with the family. Playing soccer with the kids has been really fun and we were able to hold a clinic with a bunch of them. The guys on the sports team are still looking for their first win. These kids are kind of amazing at soccer. ¡Adios! - Andrew H

hola! loving guatemala, we were in guatemala city for last 2 days we saw 168 patients yesterday! it is so cool to see Jesus in action! On a 6 hour bus trip to Malacatan today! thanks everyone for praying we need your prayers!- sue h

I am absolutely loving Guatemala. I'm so surprised by how well I'm able to communicate with people despite the language barrier, also I'm learning some spanish along the way and it's been very helpful. It's been a blessing to be performing at all of the schools so far and speak to the students after and see how the mime performance has affected them. Excited for Malacatan today! - Maggie D.

hey there everyone! I am in the bus right now going to malactan, but it has been a great three days in Guatemala serving the church. so far we have cleaned 200 chairs , all the tables , painted several walls( which i managed to get non washable paint all over me) and cleaned floors. although we did not get to see many people besides our team, it is cool to think about how the work that we have done will help the members of the church! Thank you all so much for your prayers and i am excited to see what God has in store for the rest of the trip! Oh and mom your hiking boots may have acquired some news stains.... :) and happy early fathers day daddy and i love you some much! tell the fam i love them and am excited to tell you all my stories! ps. tay sorry you had to mow the lawns alone....;). - amalie h

What a thrill to see just a glimpse of your experience in these photos. Soak it all in keep allowing the Lord to work in you and through you! I give you Psalm 143:8 "Cause me to hear Your loving kindness in the morning, for in You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you." Blessings to each one of you!

I love reading what you write! I can hear your heart in your words and am so excited to hear and see more when you come back! It would be awesome if you could bring some sunshine with you when you return but if nothing else your smiling faces and life changing stories will be more than enough! June 12

Let Me help you get through this day. There are many possible paths to travel between your getting up in the morning and your lying down at night. Stay alert to the many choice-points along the way, being continually aware of My Presence. You will get through this day one way or the other. One way is to moan and groan, stumbling along with shuffling feet. This will get you to the end of the day eventually, but there is a better way. You can choose to walk with Me along the path of Peace, leaning on Me as much as you need. There will still be difficulties along the way, but you can face them confidently in My strength. Thank Me for each problem you encounter, and watch to see how I transform trials into blessings.

And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.
    —1 Corinthians 10:10

“To shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
    —Luke 1:79
