Nearly Ready

We are 2 weeks and 9 hours away from taking off for Guatemala City from Minneapolis. The students are working hard to be ready for showtime. There is plenty to do in the next few weeks, with school ending and graduation parties and all that goes with transitioning into summer. We appreciate your prayers for all of us to stay focused and energized during the run up to the trip.

Below is a map of where we will be serving this year. We start in central Guatemala in the town of Chisec. Chisec, located in the rain forest, is a new site for us. We will be working with the local church to serve the surrounding Mayan communities. Our second stop will be Villa Nueva, a close suburb of Guatemala City. This is another new site for us. We will be working with a church with a developing ministry with the local youth and residents of the nearby barrio. Our third and final stop will be San Marcos, located high in the mountains west of Gautemala City. Wooddale OCA teams have served San Marcos several times over the years. We are looking forward to helping the local pastor renovate the building their church recently moved into.

We are learning a lot already about trusting God and seeing Him provide. Thank you for your prayers and other support. If you want to see the team off we have our send-off service scheduled for Saturday evening, June 13 at 7:00 pm at Wooddale Church, Eden Prairie. We'll post another update just before we leave.
